A meandering performance of Northern charm, cannily woven around the intriguing focus of a “Heath Robinson” fountain machine. This pedal powered mechanical fountain had the clanking, oily, iron solidity of an earlier time. Lovingly tended by a couple of Northern “shed men” - Mr. Robinson and his assistant, Jack, this performance had a beguiling fascination that entertained audiences the length of Britain, and then in a less verbal style, in Europe.
