Mike Lister is a street theatre
specialists with more than 25 years experience of creating and touring
out door theatre.
Co-founder of Avanti Display Theatre Company, with Bill Palmer, in
1984.
Learned the craft touring small scale street theatre around the UK and
into mainland Europe.
In recent years, focused on developing larger scale productions. These
have included Waterloo Sunset at the National Theatre 2001, Ballet
of Trafalgar in 2001, The Finale for
the Henley Festival 2003, Take Me To the River in
Leeds 2004, “Hydromania!” in
Croatia 2005, a show to open Museum of Singapore in 2006.
Created Albatross, an outdoor musical theatre show and toured this most ambitious work in 2003 and 2004.
In 2007 Mike Lister was commissioned by the National Theatre to create an outdoor show based on The Tempest. This show was called Storm Bringer and toured to a number of Festivals in the British Isles.
In 2008 Mike Lister collaborated with Dave Chadwick of Pa-boom to create two large scale community theatre shows that celebrated the culture and heritage of communities on the River Severn. These productions employed music and songs to tell their story and amazing effects that combined with water fountains, fire sculptures and pyrotechnics to engage the audience with thrilling spectacle.
